Why

Google's UX Design internship is a strong employer and program, and it pays well, but it is a design role rather than psychology-driven research and expects a portfolio that Calder lacks. The application deadline of October 9, 2026 has already passed, and Summer 2027 interns are generally expected to return to school, while she graduates in May 2027, so the timing does not fit. Her UX/UI coursework, Photoshop and Illustrator skills, and gallery research and presentation work are relevant, but she has no formal internship or design-tool portfolio to compete at Google's bar. Better to look for Google new-grad UX research or design roles after graduation rather than this internship.

Watch out for

• Application deadline of October 9, 2026 has already passed (today is 2026-10-12)
• Summer 2027 internships at Google typically require students to return to school after the internship; she graduates May 2027
• UX Design (not research) role, usually expects a design portfolio and prototyping/Figma skills she has not shown
• No formal internship, no UX project experience listed beyond coursework
• Posting location listing is ambiguous (Mountain View, Ann Arbor, plus many more); San Diego tag from aggregator may not be accurate
• Aggregator salary figure may be an estimate rather than stated pay

Resume angles

• UX/UI coursework paired with a psychology BA (research methods, literature review)
• Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and visual design work for Susan Street Fine Art
• Researching and synthesizing material into client recommendations and presentations
